LCC - Leadership Councils and Committees
The heart and soul of the Washington/Alaska Chapter is the Leadership Council/Committee (LCC). The only prerequisites to participating in the LCC are HFMA membership and a desire to contribute to the profession. Every member is encouraged to participate. Members participate on one council or one committee. Each committee focuses on specific subject areas of interest to Chapter members and is responsible for arranging educational sessions addressing current issues in its subject areas. Each council focuses on a specific aspect of Chapter activities and responsible for organizing and monitoring those activities. This structure gives each member the opportunity to participate in a variety of Chapter activities which may be educational or chapter oriented. It is also an excellent vehicle for the development of a personal network with your fellow professionals. Members participating on a council may also serve on a sub-council. Sub-councils are formed by the council chair to address specific Chapter projects. Being an active sub-council member provides additional networking and Founders Award points. The LCC meetings are held in conjunction with every Chapter quarterly meeting. Councils, committees and sub-councils also meet by telephone as necessary between LCC meetings.Future Chapter officers and directors actively involved in LCC. The enthusiastic participation of Chapter members in the LCC ensures the continuing ability of the Chapter to address membership concerns and develop leadership among its members.
