Founders Awards

The HFMA Founders Awards Program is an effort to recognize those members who go the extra mile to serve the chapter. The success of the chapter is dependent on those who offer their time and skills;  these special awards are given to these members who accumulate points of service as recognition for their service to the chapter or national level of HFMA. There are three awards, named after the founding fathers of the Association.

  • The first award is known as the Follmer Bronze Award and is awarded for those who reach 25 points of service to the chapter.
  • The second award is known as the Reeves Silver Award and is awarded for those who reach 50 points of service to the chapter.
  • The third award is known as the Muncie Gold Award and is awarded for those who reach 75 points of service to the chapter.  .

Points are awarded for all kinds of service to the chapter, including participating in councils and committees, serving as a board member or officer, writing articles for HFMA publications, speaking at HFMA conferences and so on.  Those who have proceeded to the Muncie Gold Award have put in a good 10 to 15 years of service to the chapter and HFMA. All the winners are recognized in the latest directory.  If you would like to know more about the Founders Awards Program, please contact Tom Muller

Medal of Honor

The chapter also recognizes those members who continue to serve the chapter beyond the Muncie Gold Award level.  This Medal of Honor award is given to those who have provided at least three more years of service, two in a significant capacity to the chapter.  All the winners are recognized in the latest directory.

Recognition Award

The chapter also recognizes each year a single member (not an officer or board member) who has done the most to contribute to the chapter in the past year.  This member is elected by those who attend the quarterly Leadership Council and Committee (LCC) meetings.  The Board awards this member a fully paid scholarship to HFMA's Annual National Institute (ANI).  Previous winners are listed in the latest directory
